The University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) has a long history of collaboration with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in research and educational programs. While CRESST II is led by the Department of Astronomy at UMCP, CRESST II facilitates collaboration between GSFC and other departments, including the Department of Physics, Department of Geology, and the Department of Aerospace Engineering. UMCP faculty have internationally recognized expertise in many areas of space science, including high-energy astrophysics, galaxy structure and dynamics, star formation, planetary science, gravitational theory, and particle astrophysics.
