Recruiting New Staff Members

All three CRESST institutions are subject to normal equal opportunity hiring standards. Therefore, normally, hires are made after a full and open advertisement, interview, and selection process. The GSFC sponsor is invited to be part of the hiring committee, or otherwise consulted fully at every step of the recruitment and selection process. This process, depending on the timing, journals utilized, number of applicants, and schedules of the committee members, normally takes from 2 to 4 months.

In certain cases, where extremely well-qualified candidates are already known, CRESST will on occasion hire individuals without advertising -- after going through a justification for other than free and open competition.
